The Realms of Day

The last light closes the Realms of Day. The phrase “Realms of Day” is the last line of the poem “Auguries of Innocence” by William Wordsworth. The first line is “To see the world in a grain of sand.” This poem just seemed to fit this photograph taken at Sunset on Oak Island North Carolina. The contrast between the shells on the beach, the power of the surf and the the multi-colored transition from day to night needed words better than I believe I am capable to write. The pier in the distance is the Ocean Crest Pier. The photo was taken near the 19th street public beach access on 19th street.
